Every Green Circle program is backed by certified global climate projects. Here is exactly where your contribution goes — and how each project is independently verified to internationally recognised standards.
The voluntary carbon market has a credibility problem — too many projects with weak verification, inflated impact claims, and poor additionality. Green Circle only works with projects certified to Gold Standard or Verra's Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) — the two most rigorous internationally recognised frameworks.
We consolidate all customer contributions and offset collectively once per year during Q1. This allows us to support larger, higher-impact projects rather than many small fragmented ones — delivering stronger environmental results and better value for every customer.
Our portfolio spans hydropower, wind energy, solar, biomass, and nature-based solutions — geographically diversified across Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Europe.
Green Circle supports a diversified portfolio of certified projects. Every project is independently verified and contributes to measurable reductions in global CO₂ emissions.
A biomass power facility converting agricultural residues into clean electricity — displacing coal-based power generation. Verified under the UN Clean Development Mechanism.
Sugarcane residues converted into clean electricity — powering industrial operations and supplying the grid. A CDM-certified project reducing fossil fuel dependence.
A grid-connected wind energy installation generating clean electricity from India's strong wind resources — independently verified and traceable under the UN CDM framework.
A run-of-river hydropower project generating clean renewable electricity without large reservoir construction — minimising environmental impact while delivering verified CO₂ reductions.
Landfill methane captured and converted into renewable electricity — preventing one of the most potent greenhouse gases from escaping into the atmosphere while generating clean power.
A grid-connected hydropower installation generating clean electricity from flowing water — directly displacing fossil fuel power generation in Brazil's national grid. Independently verified under the UN CDM framework.
Green Circle only uses projects certified to Gold Standard or Verra VCS — the two most rigorous and widely recognised standards in the voluntary carbon market.
Founded by WWF and other leading NGOs, Gold Standard is widely regarded as the most stringent certification for voluntary carbon projects. It requires projects to demonstrate real, measurable, permanent, and additional climate impact — as well as contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) by Verra is the world's most widely used voluntary carbon crediting program. It sets strict requirements for project design, monitoring, reporting and verification — ensuring every carbon credit represents a real and measurable tonne of CO₂ reduced or removed.
How collective offsetting works: Green Circle consolidates all customer contributions and offsets collectively once per year during Q1. This pooled approach allows us to support larger, higher-quality certified projects that deliver stronger impact per tonne than smaller fragmented purchases — while keeping costs accessible for everyone.
Your annual contribution goes directly into certified global climate projects — with a certificate and all assets delivered within 24 hours.
